Onegaishimasu

I remember a quote from Albert Einstein : "Only two things are infinite: The universe and human stupidity. And I am not so sure about the former."

In real life, we tend to forget many things. When we are busy at work, we forget about family. When we pour so much attention to our family, we forget about personal fulfillment. And so on. I don't think this has anything to do with human stupidity, though; but if we cannot enjoy anything in everything we do for our life, it sure is stupid.

My blog is all about sharing. I am interested in many subjects, but most of them will fall into 4 categories : related to Work (Design/IT/Management), Fun (Entertainment/Games), Aikido & Read(ing). I hope my posting maybe of your interest as well, or the least to snatch your attention a while off your routine.

Oh, and about human stupidity; it is indeed stupid to think that learning process stops when you obtain a degree, certificate or a piece of paper for that matters. I've met so many academic people who proudly put down so many titles on their name card, yet their English language skills are somewhere between a kindergarten's and a polar bear's. When we live our life, we still learn so many things from everything around us. So that's where my tag-line comes from : Enjoy Life While We Learn :-)

Last but not least, I want to share a quote from my favorite TV series, Scrubs : "Life is like having a cup of coffee. If you don't find someone else, you'll end up drinking alone." Make friends, not war. Have a great day !

Rainbow of Love (Pelangi Kasih) – Part #1

In 1986 or 1987, there was an operetta held by my Christian school foundation (BPK Penabur, Jakarta), titled “Pelangi Kasih” or “Rainbow of Love” in English. I was still in Junior High at that time, so I didn’t know many details, but I remembered the event involved hundreds of students from 7 Junior High Schools (SMP Kristen 1-7) & 3 Senior High Schools (SMA Kristen 1-3), me myself included. My part was swinging a 6 metres long blue fabric, mimicking a sea wave if seen from far away, along with 50 fellow students, I think. My scene was about the “Ocean of Life”, as lyrics free translated as following:

“There is a vast ocean of life in front of you
Cold awaiting for you and you feel very small
No matter how scared you are, don’t surrender
Always rely on Him and Him only
Keep your faith, strengthen your heart
Face everything in front of you
With a comforting hope

There goes a song about the life in this world
Symphony of sorrow and happiness
Life is beautiful indeed
If you can understand it
Do not give up, there is always hope
In the name of Jesus
Who always love us no matter what

At times sea waves coming mercilessly onto you
Wind blowing hard and trembling your heart
Storm whirling fiercely and crushing your soul
Sometimes you are wondering helplessly
And your heart is questioning
“Why oh why?”
Just look at Him
Jesus is your only savior”

I don’t even know why I am writing this. Maybe because I found the old recording of this operetta a few days ago, which quite amazed me. Maybe of some sentimental feeling when I listened to the songs, it sure brings back memories. Or maybe I just want to share a bit of what can lift up our spirit even if only for a little.

Coming out of Christian school, I am not that into the religion thing, but I keep my faith for myself. Like everyone every where, there were/are/will be many many ups and downs that we can’t even remember the details anymore. World today is not getting better than what it used to be, and problems seem to be getting worse in quality & quantity.

For you, brothers & sisters – no matter what belief you have or what not, who are currently in stress, self pity or 7th layer of hell; just do this : pause for a moment and ask yourself ,”What exactly are you doing for your life now?” You see, as short as a human life span is, consider ourselves lucky if we can enjoy every second of it. There’s a reason why I label this writing in Work topic, it is because in today’s modern world, it seems that we don’t have enough time for everything, including for ourselves. It is sad; because we should control the time we have, not the other way around.
Life is beautiful indeed….. If you can understand it. God bless us :-)
